Bi-lingual Evaluations

Assessments of the language skills of officers and others with public facing responsibilities are an important part of an ongoing training program.

Oral and/or written evaluations can be conducted with the intent of evaluating an officer's ability to communicate effectively in Spanish. Evaluations are tailored to the appropriate skill level and use role playing to determine the officers ability to function effectively in a variety of law enforcement situations.

Evaluations can vary from "first responder" to fully "bi-lingual". The emphasis is placed on the officer's ability to communicate rather than whether the officer has memorized verb conjugations and vocabulary. The agency receives a written report of the officer's evaluation and the officer receives feedback and suggestions for improvement where needed.

Evaluations can be conducted in person or by telephone and typically take up to an hour to complete.
