Spanish for Law Enforcement Officers

California P.O.S.T. certified Spanish for Police Officers

Certified by the Peace Officer Standards & Training, in the State of California. No previous Spanish experience required.

Cost: $800 per participant (minimum 6, maximum 20) plus $180 course materials per participant. Courses offered in the San Francisco, San Jose, Monterey, Salinas area. For other areas consider using our "Train the Trainer" approach.

In this 24 hour class (3- or 4-hour sessions over 6 - 8 weeks) small groups of 6 to 20 officers learn Spanish the same way they learned English - by hearing, repeating and asking questions. You will develop the fundamental language skills necessary to handle the most common law enforcement situations. Colloquial expressions, slang and profanities are included where appropriate. Vocabulary and usage are tailored to your professional needs to maximize the effectiveness of your investment.

During the classes, Hispanic culture, politics, social and family values are explained in the context of current events. A variety of teaching techniques is used to maintain the students’ interest including video clips.

Participants will each receive our self study programs “Tactical Spanish for Law Enforcement Officers” and “Tactical Spanish Slang and Profanities”. These are used throughout the course to reinforce instructor-led sessions by listening to the audio, completing exercises and reviewing the answers and may be used as a refresher when the instructor-led sessions are complete.

Classes can be scheduled around your assigned shifts, including evenings and weekends and can include attendees from multiple agencies. Please contact us to discuss your needs and scheduling requirements.
