Public Safety Language Training (PSLT) has been helping Police Officers and other Public Safety personnel learn Spanish since 1990. Over 800 Police Officers, Sheriffs, District Attorneys, Probation Officers, Correctional Officers, Firefighters and EMS personnel in 13 agencies in the San Francisco Bay area have benefited from classroom courses and seminars provided by PSLT. 

Our self study Spanish courses which focus on job related scenarios are in use at all of our previous clients who took our classroom training and in 49 states - we're still working on West Virginia !!

The ONLY Police Spanish course reviewed and endorsed by the 

National Latino Peace Officers Association

You too can be more effective, confident and safer if you are able to communicate in Spanish. Now PSLT offers Tactical Spanish for Law Enforcement Officers, a self study Spanish language program for police officers using proven materials developed for the classroom. You will learn the essentials of Spanish enabling you to handle the most common law enforcement situations.

PSLT now offers an Instructor Guide to enable a bilingual person to teach "Spanish for Police Officers" as a classroom based course. You can help your agency become self-sufficient in Spanish language training. 

The Instructor Guide covers training techniques, suggested classroom schedules, homework assignments, attendee evaluations and supporting materials. This guide was developed based on our experience teaching over 700 Police Officers and Public Safety personnel in the San Francisco Bay area. Included is two hours of personal coaching with Alejandra Gómez who developed the classroom and self study courses and developed this instructor guide. PSLT will certify you to teach this course after successfully completing the coaching.

Spanish Slang and Profanities

The ONLY Spanish course reviewed and endorsed by the

National Latino Peace Officers Association and the Chicano Correctional Workers Association

This unique program will help you learn "Street Spanish". For those with some Spanish experience PSLT offers Tactical Spanish Slang & Profanities a self study program of colloquial Spanish as frequently heard on the street, in jail, at school, in the home, etc., designed to meet the needs of law enforcement personnel. You will learn slang and colloquial expressions and become proficient in profanities! 

PSLT continues to offer classroom-based training, cultural awareness seminars, translation services and bilingual evaluations.

English for Work   Easy English For Workers

Inglés Fácil para el Trabajo is for Spanish speakers who work in construction, landscaping, house maintenance and other service industries. This self study program helps you learn English that can be used at work. It enables better communication with English speaking co-workers, bosses and customers in work situations such as looking for work, describing your skills, asking questions, negotiating wages etc.
